Potted, rooted or cut - what does it mean?
Potted: these are trees that are dug up with some of their roots & put into pots of soil.  Inevitably the roots may be damaged so it probably won't survive after Christmas even if transplanted into the garden.
Rooted: these are trees that have been dug up by hand with roots but not potted.  Again, root damage may occur but they may survive if planted out.
Cut: these trees have been felled by cutting straight through the tree trunk itself.
Container-grown: these trees have been grown in a pot for a minimum of 12 months and are therefore living trees.  They will carry on growing if they are fed & continue to be watered, especially throughout the summer months.
Tree care - how to keep your tree looking great!

Your tree has two main enemies - HEAT and LACK OF WATER!

When you get your tree home, keep it in a damp, cool shady place until you are ready to take it indoors.  If you've bought a cut tree, trim 2cm from the bottom of the trunk & stand it in water, like a cut flower.

Do not place your tree close to radiators or fires (or turn your radiator off).

If you've bought a cut tree, place it in a water holding tree stand, or in a watertight container.

WATER YOUR TREE DAILY - trees are thirsty and may need a pint of water every day!

This should keep your tree looking as fresh as possible & prolong its needle-holding ability.
